Boot release problem.......

The boot release switch inside the car has stopped working, and when I try to open the boot with the remote on the key this has also stopped working.
When I use the key I can hear a clicking sound from under the passenger side dash. Any help for a novice would be gratefully received.

Everything else seems to be ok

I think it shearers a fuse with something else cannot remember what
Or it's the solenoid
Get the boot open and check your voltage at the solenoid

Shares with the leccy mirrors on mine, a 10 amp fuse iirc
