Hi Guys
got the old Chim in for a MOT with Str8six soon but just found this? is it an easy fix or not? do i need new parts? i know the Team at Str8six can fix it but if i can doit me self it would save time and money......

S/Kid what are you on about ? who? i just looked at the car last night just thought may be its an easy fix? part wise? i can may be Glue it down as an temp job? just wanted to see/know if any one has done this type of job them self's?

The part that has snapped is a push fit into the bulkhead, so you need to fish it out somehow (self tapping screw?) then you can fit a new plastic connector

That happened to mine at last mot time, didn't notice till it came to test the washers, simply glued it and its been fine since....fail otherwise.

Other cars may well be different but the ones i have come across the part that is sheared is in fact a tee the incoming pipe feeds from the inner wing into that void which is the heater duct it is then teed with the branch sticking through the upper part of the void it then carries on to the nearside jet which is also a tee with one branch blanked on nicks car i have drilled two 1 in acces holes with grommets to seal them so as you can fiddle the tee out for repair unblocking etc. i have in fact just done exactly that to the chim.

Quick trip to Halfords like Andav said it was just a Quick Fix just to get me through the MOT me hopes...

Will do a Proper job after the MOT on Both of them with the right Parts.....May get them off Str8Six..........
