As I am changing the y manifold I am going to take the opportunity to fit a air/fuel gauge. using the search I found this thread but was a bit surprised at the prices of the AEM gauges linked in the thread - £1400-1500!. If that is how much they are, I don't see me getting one!

Any suggestions please?

Not sure where those prices came from TV8, but £150 is the going rate.

I've bought from this EBay seller and it was a good experience, recommended.

How accurate are these afr gauges. Its just that when i was thinking of fitting one i was told by a well known mapper not to bother as they are just not accurate.

Probably because you're mapper is dog st and doesn't want you to see his crap work

Innovate gets my vote they get a lot of st fired at them rolleyes but I have had no grief with my LM2 Full Kit comes with good data logging SW too wink the original probe is still serviceable compared to my spare and this is over 3 years old now but don't leave the probe on the car 24/7 only when I have had to recalibrate or something or firmware upgrading to check the fuel table is still cock on etc wink have recently been reading about this guy too because he controls the heat pump in a superior way apparently (a critical function) http://www.14point7.com/ treat all after-market WB systems as a reasonably accurate way of testing AFR and you wont go wrong they are accurate enough to keep your motor safe IMO

The Techedge is a good WB Daz wink if your now going to mention voltage offsets this can affect a lot of other brands of WB systems too frown and is correctable with a bit of patience wink

If its mapped well you don't need one, why waste your money ?...

Your car should be mapped with lambda off, they only serve to adjust on cruise

How do I know ? I wasted good money on mapping 2-3k ( and i am not the only one ) on so called experts, and twin lambas that didn't read right, so bought motec and fast acting calibrated NTK lambas that wire back to ecu with no controller. Then had it mapped by dave rowe from motec and its spot on, starts cold, hot, no shunting. But in the end I'd didn't need lambas yeah I use them for trimming in cruise. Even emerald said don't bother with lambas when I had the k6 ecu. And to boot even motec said why do you think you need one if the jobs done properly.

Hi Nigel 1st off NTK WB are considered the best from what I have read and if as good as there NGK plugs (same company) then I am not surprised yes I also run open loop unless I am making changes scratchchin your quite right about not needing the tight CL fuelling its not necessary anyway unless using a Catalyst wink I spoke to Alex and he explained you had gone fully sequential and benefited so good for you thumbup
