Misting rear lights

Hopefully quite a quick and easy but does anyone have any suggestions at to how I can stop my rear light clusters misting up? There is moisture inside the cluster so I'm guessing it will need to be removed before hand (hairdryer?), but any suggestions as to what to use to reinforce/re-waterproof the seal to the bodywork?

Someone recently said, drill a tiny (2mm) hole in the bottom corners of the lenses.

To dry them out first, easiest way is pull the brake light bulb out a little bit and stick a brick on the brake pedal.

Bulb gets hot, vapourises water, job done.

Yep, that was the advice to me I think. I tried that and it sort of worked but not brilliant. Ended up just taking off the cover when I had a bit of spare time. Cleaned it inside with the rainex anti-misting stuff, filled the tiny hole with clear silicone sealant and refitted. been fine since

oh, and I also used a hairddryer I borrowed out of the boot of DuctyC's Griff to ensure it was all 100% dry before I put the cover back on and sealed it in

The standard Chim fitted hairdryer should do the trick. Failing that:
- open boot
- remove small towel with PING written on it from golf bag
- spin it round a few times
- slap face with it for being a muppet

(Parking it in the sun for a while usually does the trick. Trouble now is the 6 months wait for the 2 hours of sun!)

Why not?

I think you'll find you can blow-dry the lense case in situ and effectively evaporate the condensation. Honest! Try it.

Now we need to discuss makes and models. Mine's a Babyliss Type S90. It produces a steady stream of negative ions...

Yep, 2mm hole in mine about two years ago, no problems since then.
