Had the roof off the chim yesterday and the windscreen rubber trim (top) decided it wanted to be free smile fortunately I managed to stop it before it was left on the m6. What's the best sealant to use to refix? The corners were always a bit wrinkly is there a trick to getting them smooth?

Both surfaces will need to be well cleaned to get a good bond.
PU sealant will do the job...we use Wurth Bond & Seal not cheap but works well.
Also get yourself some brake cleaner which consists of Naptha. You can use this to clean away the sealant that squeezes out. The Naptha works because it is, in effect, a thinner for the PU. It is also safe on paintwork.

If the wrinkles are there now then I suspect you will have little success removing them.

Where does the car live? If you're on my travels, I'll run you a bit over; the professional stuff is much better.

Thats very kind but I live in Somerset. smile

If I replace the rubber with new how do I get it to go from the top of the screen down to the wings without the wrinkles?

Mine's steadily coming away too - have been wondering what to use to stick it back together... frown
