The Mark Adams chips are put onto a scrambler board so you cant copy them directly with an Eprom programmer. Any way what does your friend hope to achieve with another chip? The TVR chip is already programmed for maximum power. There is a major post going on on the Griff Forum on the aspects of the reprogramming the 14CUX and It will be cracked quite shortly, but its being done as a challenge as much as anything. The current thinking is to work on an interface with TunerPro or a stand alone program that will allow the relevant fueling points to be changed without needing to work on the hex in the map. Once this is done then any mapper with a rolling road will be able to do it. It does require about £250 worth of hardware in terms of an emulator and Eprom programmer for the mapper to be able to do it, as you cant flash program the 14CUX.

You cant instantly duplicate 20 years of hand on, but with enough clever people working on it, it will be cracked.
Would it be easier to buy a Plug&play megasquirt and exactly that just plug it in and map it your self or take it to a mapper. You can re fit the 14cux at any time if you want.

Its not PnP though Daz you still have to mount hardware and remove the AFM and your still stuck with the dizzy if your going MS you may as well go the whole hog and go wasted spark which is so far from keeping the Lucas you can get You can re fit the 14cux at any time if you want.
I still believe there is some life in the old dog yet for people that just want the RV8 fuelling properly without the added complexity of a full after-market ECU install
you know how much of a fan I am of MS I am just giving an honest opinion as always
still plenty of Lucas ECU cars running around after all

As the man says Daz, this forum is full of posts from people including yourself trying to get the MS system working properly, its never been plug and play, more like plug and pray. Bosch and Lucas did all the donkey work with the 14CUX, all we have to do is lightly tweak what we already have without throwing £500 to £1000 at it before we start........You can re fit the 14cux at any time if you want.
