Wires behind rear panel vents?
Discussion
Hi all
We've just been fitting a new radio to my Fathers' 1998 Chimaera and decided to add some rear speakers too (only have 2 front speakers at the mo). We wanted to fit some speakers behind the rear panel vents, and upon looking we found 2 unused wires behind each of the vents that looked suspiciously like speaker connectors ..... but they aren't
. Wiring the speakers is not a problem as we have found the speaker connectors behind the access panel of the passenger door, so that's all fine.
Does anyone know what these wires behind the two rear ventilation grilles are for? The right hand side has a black wire and a blue wire with black trace. The left hand side has a blue wire and a black wire with red trace. Both side have spade connectors on each wire. We can't find reference to these wires in Steve Heaths' book, and we've done some preliminary testing with a voltmeter ... but had no output?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers, James
