Ever since having my 2000 edition Chim, the light shaped like a snow flake (best descrition!) seems to have a mind of it's own. Is it just me or is this a common problem?

I think the light is suppose to indicate outside temp and change colour like traffic lights depending on the conditions. So James at TMS reliably told me when I queried its use.

Anyway, the darn thing goes on and off without any apparent change to the climatic conditions. Can anyone help?

Covered in the bible. It is likley to be the sensor in the bottom front wing passenger side on its way out. On the older cars it is normally a ceramic cylinder but I have seen a diode shaped verion fitted that came with a plug. I reckon you have the ceramic one and it is bad connection time. Not critical. I got mine replaced at the last service.
