Went back to back with the above, 500 first then 400 and i can confirm the 500 pickup far out weighed the 400.

Standard set up on both, how can i improve the low end power on the 400??

FWIW, I have a well sorted V8D 500 engine in my car and cannot do more than keep pace with FatBoyChim's supercharged 400 on the track, both of us onthe same tyres. So the SC gives you an extra 80+ bhp

Why would you want to keep a Griff? That's like having Keira Knightley giving you the come to bed eyes and sticking with Jo Brand because she's grateful! hehe

Actually - thinking about it it's obvious - you'd keep the Griff just to make the Chim feel that bit extra *EXTRA* special. biggrinhehe

Peter old man, even for a die hard modifier like yourself, that's a bit excessive.
How much would a grief with a chimaera 400 engine then be saleable for?
Doesn't bear thinking about really.

As the OP can clearly afford to keep two TVRs in the drive/garage at once, albeit as a short term arrangement, the price difference between this Chimaera and the Griffith is unlikely to be the principal motivation for the change.

I think the two obvious choices are - blow it or 'replace' it (the engine that is).

Once you have owned a 500, nothing else will do IMO.

I just sold a 500 am very happy with the 430BV performance much as before TBH just feels more revvy than grunty bloody quick night and day from a std 400.
