It's also worth speaking to Richard Turner Turner Engineering.
What he doesn't know about Rover v8s could probably be written on the back of a cigarette pack, with space left over.
Also they do all machining in-house.
V8 Developments has an excellent, and I freely assume well deserved, reputation. So, this is not a recommendation over using them, just an alternative to explore.

Well, thanks to you all as I hadn't found those companies. With a sort engine coming in at under 2k it makes you realise just what a bargain these RV8 engines are. I see the 4.6 short block is also under 2k so now I have decide whether to go down that road or go ahead with the supercharger route at around 3k
If anyone else has been through this then I would love to know your experience.
And thanks again for all the feedback

4.6 Supercharged. No brainer. Tell the missus the holiday is cancelled. Lie if you have to. Beg borrow or steal if necessary. You know it makes sense If anyone else has been through this then I would love to know your experience.

No no no,
tell her your having a mid life crisis
and need a supercharger, then a few years down the line when everyone else is getting bigger and better, tell her the 400 is FUBAR (lie mode engaged)
and you will need a new engine and a 4.6 is hardly any more expensive! Simples.
No sorry, I never wrote it up, it was a bit of trial and error as i think I was the first self install and there wasn't really an instruction book at the time.
That said I did have the advantage of Colin and David's experience when I got stuck. Looking back now it really wasn't that difficult and I fancy I could do it a lot quicker second time around.
You can do quite a bit of the work up front by planning pipe routes and positions for new and relocated ancillaries.
Getting rid of the Dizzy and coil will help space wise if you can run to an aftermarket ECU.
If you decide to go ahead I'd be happy to take photo's of my layout to give you some idea what's involved.
