As title.

Does anybody know what the difference is?

I am reliably informed that the 5 stud hubs are much heavier.

Also, what are the 5 stud hubs from?

I have 5 stud fitted to the new chim but have the opportunity know to swap back to 4 stud, (then I can use my Image wheels smile).

Real 5 stud hubs are about the same, butchered 4 stud hubs have a backing plate added as well as being re-drilled which accounts for the excess weight (as well as the extra stud).

There were only some 10 (prob + some evaluation units) of real 5 stud hubs as part of the factory upgrade AIUI.

So, does anyone recognise these?

Are these the heavies?

You need to pop the disc off to see if the hubs are one piece or modified.

You'll get more weight saving converting the disks to alloy bells & rotors (but fairly expensive with the 304mm set up).

Thanks Dave, I'll check.

Option 1, keep the 5 stud setup and the RL7s for road use. Change the centres of my 3 piece Image wheels for 5 stud, (probably about £800) and use those for track work.

Option 2, change back to 4 stud and just use the Image wheels as before.

Decisions, decisions!
