Hi,

Before I start pulling everything apart, any ideas where the coolant is leaking from? I assume its the waterpump gasket. Swirl pot is nearly empty. frown

The car is current up on axle stands to repaint the chassis, I planned on changing the power steering pipes as they're leaking, and now I have to sort out the leaking coolant too.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Dan

Thanks.

I've seen pumps ranging from £30 to £60, what should I buy?! Oh and the genuine LR pump is £245!

I agree most likley thing is the hole, see if there is a lot of play in the bearing to confirm.

I fitted a pattern part to my 4.6 range rover about 4 years ago and is still going strong

I fitted a pre loved 4.6 range rover pump to mine 10 years ago and she still going strong. Shame I cannot say the same about the hose. One blew the other day

I've seen a few listings and adverts for replacement bolts for the water pump. Are these required? Some are stainless steel, it doesn't seem like a very good idea to me to fit stainless steel bolts into alloy...

As long as it has a metal bladed pump it will be fine

Thanks for your help. Think I'll fit some new ACT coolant hoses whilst it's all apart too.
