I've put this on the events forum, TD as above.

Wide open fast track, ideal for chims.

You just can't drive fast on the road, this is your chance for a proper blast, all day for £129.00!

I have invited Garlick to come and join us. Don't suppose he will. He's a good guy, but like many a Londoner, plays at performance cars rather than really using them for the purpose they were made...... hehe

I'll join you soon, but sniffin gas to show you what 45mpg is like on the track biggrin
My 5 litre does 24 mpg at steady motorway speed......8 mpg at all out track speed. So are you getting 135 mpg on the road, or 15 mpg on the track?

Come and join us anyway - I am fairly sure there will be another 4 litre there. Mat Smith, my TVR guy, says he will bring his 4 litre if he possibly can, and I imagine he will find your gas install fascinating.

Anthony, thanks for the prompt & just realised I posted my reply on the wrong thread ! Afraid I won't be able to make it, annoying as it looks like a good day at a good price. I'll look forward to the next opportunity, probably be next year for me now though.

Hi Phazed,

I am really, really tempted, it's a Saturday, it's cheap and the good old girl: The Chimaera needs to get out more: since the birth of our son it’s not getting used as much it really should: 5 outings since end of July (Silverstone Classic)…

Enjoyed our outing in march at Bedford autodrome (when I surprised you one how well my “standard” 500 was going…) and would love to join the Chim crew, but a few of us are already going to eth Classic Car show on the NEC on the Sunday 17th… To go to Snetterton for a track day from London, I guess I would have to go there on Friday night to be there nice and early for the kick of the track day, but I think I know the answer I’ll be getting form the mrs if I ask her if I can be away all the weekend on “car business”…

But please keep them coming and I will try to join the Chim crew for the next time… if a Chim owner I remain… I love my 500, she’s well sorted, full service history, good chassis, low mileage (36k), all works, have quite a few extras and as you know she pulls well, … but she’s is not getting used enough as usually she’s was being used when going to the country side for the day / weekends with the mrs and since we are now 3, I am “missing a seat”…

So I am, almost ashamed to say it, looking at a heeerrrrrr a (can I say the word here…?) let’s try a P o r s c h e, would go for a “classic”: 964 or 993, but I am scared by the lack of power and also by the fact that they are so common….

So I have 2 other options:
1) Keep the Chimera and try to use her more (she’s garaged so she’s not going to rot away), she’s well sorted, so the intention was always to have her as a keeper.
2) Sell her / swap her and join the Cerbera team

I am more and more thinking that I might sell and buy a Cerbera or see if one of the Cerbera guys fancy some open top motoring and fancies a swap….

I’ll try to join you, but I think that the chance is really small.

All the best to all of you out there, Frenchie

Frenchie, lay the rules down now!

You have to come and play or you'll loose your friends, (we're very shallow people).

I'll probably stay at a cheap hotel on Friday night, there's an incentive for you!

I would, and indeed will, offer to put you both up on Friday night, but as I now live near Newark that will leave a 100 mile journey Saturday morning which kinda defeats the object for you two.....

I'll be doing the 6am Saturday departure - so much less traffic than on a Friday evening, though having said that I found the trip INTO London on the friday evening before TiTTs was no problem at all.
