I don't think, there's another single model forum like this anywhere else on PH smile This forum has everything, how to buy, how to run and maintain, problem solving, upgrades, more power, what wheels, what tyres, what oil, everything.... It's truly amazing.. You can know everything there is to know about a Chimaera without ever having been in one...

And the knowledge of the combined collective is truly awesome......

Actually, it's a bit scary...

I sometimes wonder what on earth I spent my time on before I discovered it... Although more often than not I now question why I spend so much time on here..

Sad or What?

Still, I appear to be in good company biggrin

This Wolf Blass Cab Sav is fecking good stuff biggrin Hic.

Yup agree on that, the old search system was one of the greatest points about PH, so easy to tap into the vast knowledge base that's existed over the years, why it can't be fixed to its old working self bugs me badly ...

Chilli drink beer for gods sake not some woofta wine, its the tvr forum for gods sake, drink should be dark with bits floating in it ...o and in a jug with a handle on it you girl laugh

Mind you it is the chimaera lot laugh

Know exactly where your coming from Chilli.

I`m reminded daily by swmbo how sad i am, one for frequenting PH as often as i do and two, for having a stupid car in the first place that is apparently made out of paper masha or something. eek Apparently my laptop is my life support machine.

Women eh..... and i dont even have a Chimaera.

Anyway logging off now as i`ve a day off and got the daily drivers to service. Least it keeps me in the garage away from any more winging. wink

I think the search down function is intentional to make you post on the forum rather than search for old information (Old cynic)

However the current search does work reasonably well if you're targeted with your query. Alternatively you can force any search engine to just look at PH by putting tongue outistonheads after any search query.

I think this forum reflects the average TVR owner.

Chilled, down to earth and wants the simple things in life....BHP, Noise, Speed, beer, Wine, Smiles...the list could go on.

Ive spent time on a few forums (Porsche, Jap etc) and this is by far the friendliest.

I've just checked how many posts I have clocked up, I'm catching Sardonicus up yikes

On a serious note, not only is the chim forum informative, often amusing but allows us to arrange our get togethers in one form or another and meet new friends, ( give yourselves a big hug lads wink )

Can you imagine what it's like if you owned a tam rofl

Lets be honest chaps, it's an asylum here, and we're all fully paid up patients.

I've looked at this and came to the conclusion men of a certain age can easily become obsessive and channel their energies into an object that allows them to temporarily escape the normality of a mundane life.

A trap we all as young men promised ourselves we'd never fall into.

It's part escapism, part addiction, and it satisfies the obsessive thing a lot of guys have from birth.

If the average TVR owner is undergoing therapy with view to being released from the asylum, then the TVR modifiers are the incurable lifers that will never be released.

Part of the problem is these cars are flawed diamonds, in an old school way the fundamental design is excellent and has huge potential for a small initial outlay.

The truth is TVR's execution of this excellent design left a lot to be desired.

The habitual modifier sees this and convinces himself if I just did this, changed that, or simply improved all the little failings it'll be my dream car.

The truth is all of the above is true, but once you've started improving these cars there really is no end point because there's always something more you can do to improve it further.

Personal happiness ends up getting all mixed up with how well/fast your TVR is running and the false dream of how complete your life will be if you could just make the car a little better.

Personally I feel a supercharger would give me inner peace & personal happiness to rival anything Buddhism could ever offer me.

A supercharger on a 6.0 litre Wildcat engine would put me up in the heavens sharing theological thoughts with Buddha himself wink

Oh, and I'd like to leave you all with the definition of addition scratchchin.....

The fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance or activity

In this case the activity is posting bollix on Piston Heads hehe

Which makes me an incurable crack head weeping

I think "Chimaera forum" is the wrong name.
It should be the "Chimaera Party Line" and everyone is welcome.
I know I, and my car have both benefited from this,
Its like a massive group of blokes in the pub talking about their cars,
There is usually one or two that disagree with everything that is said, there is always the guy who asks the "amusing" questions, there is the occasional "debate", but most of all its fun!
There is no problem to big, no question to stupid, and never a car with enough power.
If we stopped using it as we do then it will end up like some of the other forums on here, you know the ones, when you have to blow the dust off, cos its not been used for months.
2 really good life decisions;
1, Buying my Chim
2, joining Piston heads

Couldn't agree more, especially with Chimpongas regarding our flawed diamonds and the narcotic of upgrades. Around late spring I had my Chim exactly how I wanted it, Nitrons and twin plenum being 'absolutely the last'. So I concentrated on driving it which after all is why I bought one in the first place. Then I noticed I was spending less time on Pistonheads and missing the forum but with a happy settled car my need for information diminished. Then an itch started, man-maths kicked in, all sorts of justifications were created to keep Mrs KateV8 happy (ish) and then, the killer punch, the 'Turbo vs Supercharge' debate began on here...and so it would appear by late spring next year Kate herself will be off to Lloyds for something with 'Rotex' stamped on it. But do you know what, a little half hour drive around in the dark last night (before the gritters came out) and it's all worth it. And of course a visit to the forums is back on as a several-times-a-day habit smile

I blame this forum alone for making me buy a new house with a double garage, as well as being skint. You seem to collect a lot of bits and pieces when running a TVR biggrin

Cracking thread, agree 100% with everything said. I may not post a lot but you come to know all the names and the characters behind them - just like a bunch of mates really. And it really scratches the itch of what can I afford, or not, to do next!
