Does anyone know what thread the bell housing to block bolts are? They are M10 but don't seem to be a metric thread.I only have the tool to measure the pitch on metric threads.I want to mount my engine on an engine stand.

Cheers Paul.

1/2" UNC (or UNF)would normally be a 3/4" (19mm near as makes no difference) spanner, shock absorber or wishbone bolts for example.
7/16" would be 5/8 spanner
3/8" would be 9/16 spanner

HTH

Those old engines are of American origin and they don't do metric but to confuse things some of the later Rover upgrades/improvements/developments are metric.

They are 9/16 spanner size (or 14mm if you only have metric) so 3/8unc thread. Pretty much everything on the rv8 engine is unc too! Easy to see as the threads are course. Hth.
