Having put most of it back together when I went to connect the battery I've got lots of relays clicking like mad, the hazards flashing etc.. anyone any ideas (electrics aren't my strong point at all).

Is the battery fully charged? Low voltage can cause this.

Is the battery new? - connections round the right way/ right battery?

Pull all the fuses relative to the issues your getting, ie hazards, lights......etc, then reinstate to pinpoint what circuit is clear/affected?

Check the live connector that you put onto the battery, iirc it's a plastic join that holds the cable and terminal together and they're designed to split in accidents.

Slightly? hehe

If there are loads of relays clicking then it's most likely to be battery related. Check the connections, wiggle it all about and look/listen for sparks, check voltage etc.

Think it may have been that I put the ribbon lead for the light switch on the wrong way round confused

The visually Impaired megane is the reason I have to get the TVR back on the road ( I was going to use that over the winter )

The ribbon cable will do it, also make sure the switches work before putting the lower panel back on,
I have over tightened these before causing the switches not to function.

Being really gentle with everything, But I do appear to have a white wire with red stripe that goes nowhere confused

Can't vouch for that particular wire but mine has lots of wires that go nowhere and the car usually seems to run fine. I put it down to Range Rover bits not used in our cars.
It may not be the culprit!

It ended up being the feed for the Instrument lights, I had missed labelling that one.
