Your kidding right!?
They work just like on any other 'normal' everyday car.
Battery and Oil Pressure illuminate when ignition turned on.
(this shows bulbs are ok)
As soon as engine fires up , both battery and oil pressure should exstinguish.
If either come on when engine is running - you have a problem.
Battery light on = not charging.Usually belt slip, or alternator gone.
Oil light on = very low (or no) oil pressure. V.Bad but could be duff press switch.

I think this one has the potential to run and run...
Damned sight more interesting than discussing the best way to make your car look like a frightened rabbit!

Can confirm the battery light = alternator stuffed. Mine failed on a track day, but still did me another ten laps of Cadwell Park, three restarts of the car, and 45 miles home. If its of any interest, I guess the alternator failed slowly, as the light came on dimly at first, but was fully bright by the time I was on my way home. Does that make sense, oh experts?

Mine did this and it turned out the 100amp fuse had started to break up, when you revved the f****er the light went out, replaced fuse and all good again.Just been out to check it ,The Battery light come on when the ignition is on but not the one just to the left ,I can`t see what that one is .
What is the other one for on the rev counter ..
The battery light goes off when i start the engine but i get nothing from the other light to the left .
This is why i ask the question .

The left hand one in the speedo is the oil warning light
The one in the rev counter I haven't a clue
The light to the right of the rev counter is the MIL light IIRC??? Perhaps someone can confirm this?
The two between the gauges are the ice warning light (upper), which goes from green (5 degrees) to red (freezingish), and the handbrake warning light (lower)
