Does anyone have a motorised screen head unit fitted?
Don't go shouting about Chavving it up, or going all max power. There is a reason for this madness.
You can get the head units running android now and there is an android MS app so I could monitor gauges via the head unit and control the ECU with touch screen.
I just don't know if it would fit, or catch on the dash etc

I've seen them - a pioneer unit but it blocked the heater controls/gauges

The head units 'stick out' a lot further than standard units, and them the flip-screen comes out a little further from the head unit, so there's quite a gap still between the rear of the screen and dash, so it may fit. (I have one fitted to my Tamora).

I would suggest you take a visit to your local car audio centre and ask if they could measure the distances for you.

Thank you,
I know it does look a bit fast and the furious, but this would give Sat Nav, GPS Speedo and run shadow dash

Not really for me but interesting all the same - being able to have all the ECU readouts on show appeals to the geek in me.

Post some piccies if you go ahead.

I've recently been giving some thought to getting rid of the stereo completely. With a bluetooth receiver on the amp and a smartphone with holder I can do everything the radio does and SatNav. Would require a bracket to hold the phone and free up some dash space. I've never had FM reception.

I've picked up a spare dash top to see if i can integrate a 8" touch screen into the dash top, i can then run a mini pc / raspberry pi hidden away for sat nav / music / roverguage

You can't buy that system anymore, I bought the latest version and TBH, it's not a patch on the original X1 as above.

I did see that when looking for a motorised head unit and sat nav. Decided against as the price is too high for 7 year old stock with 2006 maps. I wish I could have bought just the head unit and a more up to date sat nav, which are now half the size and the info's on a SD card instead of DVD.

confused

You could have, Pioneer still sell a motorised head unit with an up to date add on navigation pack.
