I know this has probably been covered before but memory's a little vauge (beer).

Are there any disadvantages to putting 16" wheels on the front with 205/50/16 tyres. Keeping the same width just changing diameter. Speedo etc wouldn't be affected as it's electronic off the fly wheel (I think)

I don't think so, slightly 'jumpier' steering maybe, but why bother? I can understand the wish to go for 17 or 18 inch wheels and create the max powered Tuscan look (IMO), but 15 or 16 inch Chimaera/Griffith style wheels look sooo similar anyway.

BTW, Speedo reads from a sensor on the diff, which is nowhere near the front wheels

From 2001 onwards the chimeara has 16 inch wheels and 225/50 as standard on the front. The only obvious difference is the slightly higher ride height.

I spoke to Richard at Peninsular about this and he said it improved handling. It apears that the 15/16 inch difference is is down to styling!

better steering, no disadvantages
you can then use Toyo's TS-1's which are brilliant IMO
If you have PAS, go for 7J with 225/45/16
