Following a bigger than expected christmas pay packet I am going to treat the TVR to some bits. New dashboard is going in but I also rather like the corrado mirrors. Has anyone had the conversion and do they look good ? I know they'll probably still be useless as mirrors (current ones being great for seeing the side of the car) but if they can at least stay put for more than a few weeks at a time without flopping around and needing attention then it will be worth it.

ETA: Oops , I meant to post in the Chimaera section .....

hi, I was going to do the corrado mirrors on my car but once id seen them fitted to one it put me off a bit, they seem to sit very high compared to standard ones.

they do sit a little higher, which meant i could actually see!

made a big improvement as i could not get the old ones to give me a good field of vision

They are fitted as standard on the T350

I've never found a problem with the Citroen mirrors on the Griff. Only driven a few Chimaeras but don't remember problems with them.

Are they (and the "adaptors" too fit them) easier to source than the Citroen mirrors?

No actual evidence to back it up but I'd guess the adaptors are as rare as rocking horse poop and I'd say Corrado mirrors themselves aren't exactly common, so it's not going to be a cheap or easy mod, which I s'pose in some ways is kind of the point. wink

A friend of mine has fitted them. They look better than the Corrado ones IMO.

I don't see where the Corrado or TT mirrors are any better than the existing?

If you are going to stick bigger ones one these are pretty good:

2 screws & 1 electrical connector (with careful install doesn't even need to be accessed through the speaker..) can remove the mirror off the base / car in a few minutes.

That's not better? never mind the fact theres no turret that snaps...

There are plenty of alternatives these days, when we first used the corrado mirrors they were about the only ones available on stalks (car design seemed to be in that odd phase of them all being integrated in the quarter-light). You do seem to be spoilt for choice these days with minis / audis / fiats... all having mirrors on plinth + stems.

Aha! So it's all about maintenance rather than application?
