Newbie question

Just picked up my first TVR, a '97 Chim :-D
Driving home and everythings going fine... until it got dark. None of the instrument lights work.
All of the warning lights seem to be OK, as are the heater lights.
I'm guessing this is a problem with the dimmer switch not working (Is that the knob next to the stearing wheel height adjuster?)

Is the problem likely to be the dimmer switch and how easy is it to get to this switch and fix it?

There's a switch under the dash just left of the steering wheel. Push it and hay presto.

And I think you'll find that the knob next to the steering wheel adjuster is controls the 'gaps' on the intermittent wiper setting.

then "how do you get the petrol cap open!" - that was my problem!

Was forced to work that one out fairly quickly

But why would you want to turn them over - I have never worked that one out - or - Er Officer I did not know how fast I was going as my Dash lights were turned off!!

I presume you mean turn them off?
In the pitch dark on unlit country roads having two bloody great dials bouncing arounf in your peripheral vision can be a little distracting, turning them off give a far better view of the road ahead.

Or having to park with parking lights on (do we still do that ??), you can save the battery going flatter tham a very flat thing at least 5-mins later by switching the dash lights off!!

Fred, hope the new car is green. Despite what others may tell you, green is the colour to have, not blue.

Not sure thats so Mark! In a recent JD Power survey, they tested all rear wheel drive cars in two colour combinations (green and blue). In 83.967% of cases, green cars proved to be faster in both a straight line and around the bends. Frankly I dont know how you could argue with these sort of facts. I can only hope Fred really has got a green Chim, so that he may experience the full pleasure of TVR driving.
