Assuming no rusty bolts(big assumption...), how long should it take a garage that knows TVR's to replace all the suspension bushes (not the diff bushes)?

Just trying to work out if I should get dirty or let itbe done as part of the annual service.

Many thanks

if they're original and rusted in, all 4 corners need to come off, and start from there.

it took me a a good half day to get mine out after the wishbones were on the floor, burning or drilling out the rubber, then cutting the sleeve slightly.

i tried to press them out, but even with a stupidly big 20 tonne press, the damn things wouldn't budge and the sleeves we were pushing them out with were yielding so resorted to cutting.

i'd say it is a good days work. from start to finish, and if unlucky maybe a little more.

if you're wishbones are in need of refinishing, get that done at the same time, for another 100 quid you will get them blasted and powder coated

and remember to take down carefully the geo setup, as it'll need resetting after the work.

I whould hope a tvr friendly garage whould be able to do the lot in the day
That's with non of the probs that can come up
I am no tvr macanic and I have now done all the bushers
Front replaced with pollys + ARB
Rears replaced with oe
With the 10 ton press and gas axe they should be able to do it
I was lucky I had non of the stuck bolts like blaze or disco if you get that you could be at it days

I like a challenge, do professionals in the trade count? What's the prize?

I can strip a tvr down to a bare chassis in one day no problems

Not having done bushes on a tiv before and taking my time I reckon I spent about 4 days if I'm honest.

There was no rush, the garage stereo was on and tea and bacon butties were plentiful, I even had a mate remove the bushes in his workshop.

That did include cleaning up the suspension, stripping, cleaning and refitting the brakes etc, all the stuff you would want to do.

Don't be fooled into thinking its a DIY days work, it isn't!

I've got a doner for you Alex, lol lol
How long to put it back together.
The thread the thread????
I had a nasty bolt stuck on my old S2 ,,,,,,, 3 shocks replaced in an hour or so, 1 shock almost all afternoon.
Takes as long as it takes is the answer surely.
A Tvr expert can probably just about do it if he starts early.

How long is a piece of string. I did find that having my suspension arms shot blasted, powder coated and then the obligatory cooking on gas mark 9 for a couple of hours, loosened (more like slow braised) the old rubber bushes very nicely. The inner sleeves simply pushed out leaving the outer metal casing to be cut through and prised out.

Can get it off in one day, can't rebuild it back in one.

Hired! And you have all the 14cux/tvr stuff thats left over tongue out

I need 2 maybe 3 alarms removing and a new one put in (some pratt installed both together tvr, hornet and some clifford?)
All my dash/clocks stuff gone and new stuff in
New fan/relay wiring
New relays/wiring for both fuel pumps
Fuse board moved
All battery/alternator/starter wiring
And new ecu powered up

I probably could do it myself but take me a while and I need someone to hold my hand...........

How many sugars? Milk? Biscuits?

Ps can we do KERS, DRS, ABS and a TC system if we have time thanks
