Where was the heated seats button?
Discussion
The GassedUpChimp has heated seats, so he will be able to answer this one for you.
I did know a long time ago, but as I don't have them, I have forgotten where/what the button goes/looks like.
What I would like to know; where did you get the kit from?
I could never understand is, how the original owner could spend all that money on gold badges (a good call all the same) and a few other optional bits, and not add heated seats at circa £250.
Always meant to have mine retro-fitted then just never got a roundtuit

I've pretty sure I've read in a previous thread that the button is to the left underside of the steering column, sort of opposite side of the boot release button, but don't have them fitted to mine & agree that if you're spending 35 grandish on a new convertible and they're an option why wouldn't you ??

Some people only ever intended to use theirs in the summer?I recall mine was more like 40 grandish with options.
So, £250 seems like being a bit tight at that point.
Like all cars, when you spec them, you also look at the re-sale value.
Hence why you rarely see a red Aston Martin, but the majority of Ferraris are red...
For example, dealers strongly advised against aircon for a Chimaera or Griffith, but insisted you needed it in a Cerbera. All about resale value.
It was around 1k for aircon IIRC.
A greater oddity was most pre-2000 500s would probably not have power steering. Whereas many/most 400s did (apparently).
Again dealer advice was that you didn't put PAS on a 500 as it robbed power, and owning a 500 was all about power.
Not sure how all that would stack up in a real world survey, but that was the general feeling amongst the 3 dealers I was speaking to.

Thanks. Ok, well I don’t fancy it being hidden up underneath there, I think I’ll try and fit them on either side of the centre console. Bit more accessible there. Frank Smith said:
I have got factory fitted heated seats on my 450 and the button switch is located on the right hand side of the steering column just below the immobiliser slot. Hope this helps.
Interesting, thanks. I presume it’s one button for both seats then? My kit has 2 buttons, one for each seat. zed4 said:

I'd be interested in the details of your kit, once your happy with it of course, if you're willing to share the info. The missus likes having a warm arse when out in any season !Richard 858 said:

Looks like a good kit though. I believe it's the same kit that was fitted in the Defender.
It was my Christmas present from my dad!

likewise my factory fitted heated seats button is on the steering column on the right hand side. I too would be interested in the details of the kit, because my heating elements have burnt out... 8-[Gassing Station | Chimaera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
