Just renewed my insurance and had to give them the mileage reading - there was a measly 296 miles between last year and this year.

Poor thing hasn't been out of my garage since June frown

296 miles is nice business for an insurance company, the risk of a claim is virtually zero.

What sort of discount did you negotiate?

I can trump that - 50 in around 4.5 years. For various reasons, I might add, but a shame. Ready for the road now (just in time for winter... rolleyes)

That's the lowest I've heard, up until then was 34 miles between MOT's

It was a case of tinkering with it, which meant it wasn't fit for driving or MOTing/taxing. This then meant, as it was off the road, I'd tinker some more. Throw in some unplanned 'issues' and a lack of time and suddenly it's four or five years later. Have now done loads of work (& paid David Gerald over £2.5 k) it's ok. Ish...

Does a speedo stuck at 51999.9 count?

Hopefully for not too long - if it appears on more than one MOT it could prejudice the resaleability of your car, as it will lead a potential purchaser to distrust the mileage.....
