Alternator depends on serp or pre serp. There was an ebayer selling genuine Manelli serpentine alternators from Range Rovers complete with pully.

I got a Bosch coil. Classic Range Rover should do the trick. Same with the leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm. I didn't do the ignition amp so I suspect you are better off at a TVR specialist.

Original alternator AMR 2427 I think is a LandRover Magnetti Marelli part. You can get them from Hobson Industries in Donnington on Bain, Lincs. They uprate Landrovers for the MoD so have the standard, unused ones, for sale. Cost about £100 delivered.

Sorry - Its AMR4247. Remembered it wrong. Mine is a 99 car.
Look at the label on your old one before ordering

I've noted it also Qbee. Mines on the bench awaiting cleaning but I might just get a new one, always got a spare then!
Probably wont need it for ten years but hey,
So if the inflation rate is 2%
In ten years the price will have gone up 20%
20 quid!!! This is going nowhere!

If you can't get a decent replacement get your's refurbed by a good specialist, I have done this many times over the years with different cars and always been happy with the result.

I think the A610's came with a horn as standard Alun.

Its the AMR4247 at the bottom that you need when ordering.

As I said above, Hobson Industries from Donnington on Bain in Lincs were where i got mine. It was about 106 quid all in IIRC. Part that came was brand new as far as i could tell, though I gather that it came off a brand new LAndie that was being upgraded for our boys in Afghanistan. 01507 343401. Give Mr Hobson a call - he was very friendly when I got mine, and they are easy to fit as the adjuster is spring loaded.

Just remember to disconnect the battery.....(sound of egg-sucking grandmother can be heard if you listen carefully)

Thanks Anthony, spoke to them last week & they didn't have any stock. Would have to order a Denso one in for about £140-50. I've just ordered a Bosch manufactured one from the local factors. Bit cheaper too. thumbup

My J E Developments bracket came this morning too. Best get me spanners out... smash

They sometimes come up on eBay, I got a new old stock original magnetti marelli one for £120 I think which has been good for a few years now.

I previously got an aftermarket one from a land rover specialist in Stevenage/letchworth (can't remember) before that lasted 3 weeks before it broke. Ended up having an argument with them as they were refusing to replace under warranty as it had been put in a TVR not a land rover. Eventually they replaced it, then a few months later I jump started it and blew the diode pack!
