Does anyone know the dimensions of a 95 car?
I searched and found Chimpongas's 96 car measurements. Does that count for all the earlier cars as I believe they changed size at some point.
I'm not at home at the mo and need to order one today.

Thanks

I found getting under the car to remove the rusty bolts that hold the battery box in place a right pain so I binned mine and bought a lightweight battery tray which bolts down and the battery straps to it. Much easier and lighter too. I think I got it from demon tweaks.

Thanks guys, battery already ordered. If mine is the same size as yours Peter I may be in trouble as I ordered the larger battery, so may be modding the battery box as suggested.
All was fine till I bought the Aldi charger as my Accumate had packed up, it seems to have goosed my battery. Lesson learnt rolleyes

You may be fine, I fitted an Odyssey PC1500 which is bigger than the dimensions (in width & height at least) quoted by Peter and it slid in the box like a glove.

The dimensions of an Odyssey PC1500 are:

Width: 275.6 mm

Depth: 171.7 mm

Height: 198.6 mm

Well Ok, I did have to notch the battery box slightly, but only to accommodate & gain access to the axillary terminals.

But if its a problem with your new battery, you could easily ditch the battery box altogether and use some tie down eyelet bolts & a strap.

The truth is you don't really need a battery box at all, just some means of safely securing the battery to the car; like two secure anchor points & mini ratchet strap for example.

Thanks for your help, mine is 270mm wide. The battery (096) was supposed to be next day delivery for Friday but didn't show so I've emailed them and asked to change to a smaller battery (075). If that doesn't work I'll ditch the box and secure the battery another way. Pity as it's a really nice day for a drive today.

Conclusive proof, a Varta 096 does fit in the battery box.

Not sure it's ever coming out again though, bloody tight, sorry bout the upside down pic
