I'm trying to establish the size of a standard Chimaera wheel stud.

My guess is M12 x 1.5, 13mm spline & 47mm long?

But TBH I'm just guessing based on a hunch they're 90's Ford.

Can someone give me the true confirmed dimensions of a standard Chimaera wheel stud to save me guessing?

Cheers, Dave.

I've got a load of them in a box at home, I'll let you know later if no one else manages it by then. Fairly certain that they are just standard Ford four stud size though.

I think 47 is about right but that is longer than "standard"...... clicky

How do you measure them? I make the shaft about 47mm but the overall length is 52mm. I've got some that I can send you but have no stamps so it won't be until tomorrows late post, ebay would probably be quicker.

Rally Design are very good but probably left it too late now to get in post tonight?

Yeah they're definitely 47mm long then, that's what I knocked out of mine and from the state of them they had never been off before.

I fitted 10mm longer studs when I decided to fit spacers but that little project failed . Even 10mm longer there is space inside the nut .

Brilliant chaps, special thanks to S P A C E M A N for dropping a tape on a stud.

In the end I had a brain wave & popped to the end of my street where the local Ford dealer has their parts department, the parts guy was great.

He had a listen to what I needed then went out the back to the workshop, returning 2 minutes later with a 45mm stud that one of the mechanics had in box of random bolts.

I then went to the car and did what I should have done yesterday (knock the old stud out), measuring from the shoulder on the head to the end of the thread confirmed it to be 47mm long.

So in went my free 45mm stud from the Ford dealer; Ok so not ideal being 2mm shorter but it's only one & a half threads missing so hardly the end of the world for a few days while I wait for the correct stud to come in the post.

And way better than the 2CV stylee three stud situation I was in this morning rolleyes

Thanks again for everyone's help, much appreciated thumbup

Out of interest, what did you do to your original stud to necessitate replacement?
