FOlks,

What is the difference between the standard 5A AFM and the 20A (or other) AFMs?

Do they do anything significant? I have a 4.5, 2000 model.

Thanks,

Rich

There is a description here (scroll down a bit or text search 'Air Flow Meter (A.F.M.)') that you might find useful.

I assume the standard 5AM maxes at 5 volts etc.....

You might need to try the 20 AM if your engine, with the 5AM, suddenly goes lean (feels gutless at high RPM) at about 280 bhp. This will only happen if you have modified it. It is either the AFM maxing out or the injectors ditto in my limited experience.

You will however need the ECU remapping, which costs over £500, so resist the temptation to change it just because you spotted a 20 AM for £25 on the Bay.
