Have to say it has been a bit of a bind,I am almost finished and after finding out that my set from coverdale does not include the door cards I now find I am short of one piece too !!
I may have been better off taking it to a trimmer.A day stripping out, a day fitting carpets, and half a day putting it all back together. What fun I have had rolleyes

£340. I have had them for nearly two years. They are decent but it is a hassle putting them in!

It's only a couple of hundred quid extra to go to a trimmer and let them do all the work for you.

That''s what I'm doing.

It's an easy job, just time consuming.

Did mine at a leisurely pace over 2-3 weekends last winter. Very satisfying job, just a bit daunting to begin with........

ETA - I got the carpet set for £200 so the savings were well worth the hassle for me.

Seats come out, seatbelts, seatbelt anchors, hood and centre console is held in by a screw at the rear of console which is under little filling piece that you pull out. anything else my friend removed. With experience I. would definitely get a trimmer next time

Hi Gary,

Can I ask what glue you used to stick the carpet down with, have a few areas I'd like to get bonded down again.

I want to renew the carpets in my 95 chim.

The carpet prices seem to start at £350.00!

I will sell the car so I'm not looking or the best Wilton just a fair product at a fair price.

Any recommendations?

Hi Ian.
I got the evostik spray from B and Q about £9 a can.
Spray both sides and leave a few minutes to tackify!!

I understand you could dye the carpets. That will keep the costs down if you are going to sell!

Dead easy to get centre console out - 3 screws and a bit of fiddling around gear lever/handbrake

Yep, got lucky with a set of carpets by Central TVR via Ebay.

Cool, I am going to do this when I get mine in a week or so. What did you do about door cards?

I presume that you glue the underlay in then glue the carpet to the underlay.

I just got some extra carpet material, cut it to size and stuck it to the fibre glass door card panels.
