Pretty rare these are... basically the normal temp gauge with an oil can logo underneath the temp logo in Alloy surround i know Quinny has acquired one has anyone got one spare?

or

I could buy another temp gauge just rig it up to wherever you get the oil temp feed from

or

buy another temp gauge carefully remove the alloy surround fix new oil can decal and reassemble.. this way may work if you can get the alloy surround off without damaging it!!!

a longshot i think!

the other question is where do you get the oil temp feed from?

The easiest way to get the feed is in via the 24 way sumitomo connector at the top of the passenger foot well adjacent to to bulkhead grommet where the wiring comes in from the engine bay. This is where some of the other feeds come in to the dash. Not sure where you screw the oil temp sender in though.....For the gauge you should be able to locate a 12v supply / lamp supply and earths from one on the other gauges I should imagine.

I got the dash with the extra hole sitting about

The temp sensor was drilled in the sump plug

Have you really not slept since you touched that oil temp gauge a week ago? You were so so close!

Caerbont (Speedy Cables) might do you one... sender in the sump bung will give you bulk oil reading and be a PItA every oil change (also means you cant use better socket headed bung). Better teed into the pressure switch gallery or tapped into the bung where the LR oil cooler returns (much more responsive)

Yes but gauge would always read, not go off with ignition like other gauges.

Count me in, but on 2 conditions:

1) The gauge will match my others, aluminium colour bezel / off white / cream facia
2) It is supplied with a sender that actually matches the gauge so is accurate, otherwise whats the point? I will be checking this if one is supplied so be warned.

Cheers for the offer.....beer
