I thought at first some tcensoredt had tried to steal it, but there are no marks on the lip of the recess from any prising in an attempt to get it off, so I think it may be my fault.

When I replaced the corroded screws, I used stainless allen bolts and I did up them tight so that the covers didn't rattle. I think I fractured the plastic and a spirited corner negotiation (?) did for it.

Can't find one for sale on fleabay, Racetech want £25 + VAT for one (!), which is in fibreglass and unpainted. I think I'll follow some of the users on here and just take them all off now. The wheels look OK ish without them. (If I squint and convince myself frown )

Well they're normally covered up so it doesn't matter. smile

Just after I bought the car (as I do with all purchases), I took off all the wheels and checked the wheel nut threads. Outside mankiness doesn't bother me. (They weren't overtorqued, which made a change. Most cars are).

A bad experience with an old Astra regarding a stripped hub thread when I had a puncture has led me to do this, as well as many moons ago, having to call the AA out because I couldn't undo a wheelnut after a puncture on the M32 on my Hillman Avenger. He though I was a wuss but he had to get a 5 foot bar out and stand on it to undo the nut.

I think the replacement wheel cover may be the way to go. These Estoril fetch a lot second hand, £700 + on fleabay! That said, I saw a TVR on here somewhere with blank plates covering the wheelnuts so perhaps another make fits. Probably Ford or Vauxhall.

I'll keep my eyes out for one. No panic really but no caps all round would need centre caps of some description, or polished wheel studs. rolleyes

By the time you have bought 60 mm centre caps and TVR stick on 60 mm badges from Leven for them you will be back around the £25 mark again. That's without paying £2 each for chrome nuts. Prices may vary, but you get my gist.....

I found that thread searching, but £125 for a set?!

I've considered ordering 4 x aluminium discs from a cutting firm (159mm I make them), £20 - £25 ish depending on thickness including postage. Then there's painting them, drilling the location screw hole, new badges etc. For £35 ish you can have them in stainless steel but may look a bit 'bling.'

And they'd be completely flat, with no recess where the badge sits at present. Actually, they may look OK!

The picture is exactly the same as on Racetech's website, so perhaps that's where they get them?

That was my thinking. I would have thought going directly to source they would be cheaper.

Same thing happened to me last summer - got one from TVR Dean up in the NE.
Very good service, arrived within a couple of days - reasonable price as well.

I've been offered one by a caring forum user (hats off to Colin RedGriff) that needs paint, and I intend to do just that, strengthen them. The 3 I still have all possess cracking to some degree. One is on the point of a chunk falling off.

That looks like it may be glass fibre; I may just use 2 part epoxy resin mix however. Easy to apply and can be filed afterwards. I'll add some M8 washers too to spread the load.
