Its only 30 minutes away from me, but with the car still not on the road (been off for over 3 years) I want a few months running to suss any problems before tracking it.

Come April / May I will definitely be in smile

So then Peter, any further thoughts on this?

As to taking part in the sprint challenge, I really fancy that and will look into it.
I don't reckon I'd be too shabby, us chim owners are all Gods ya know!
Would be good for you to join in the fun & show us Griff drivers how it's done.

You said it here Peter http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I've very firmly got my L-plates attached as this is my first proper TVR season. There are 2 events kicking off this years' competition on the the 16th March at North Weald & Rockingham. The rest of the dates are listed on the TVRCC site.

I'd be daft to miss the opportunity, but still unsure if I'll have the car back together properly by then, still waiting for bits, then fiddle time, then full geo etc., etc. and getting less garage time at the moment frown

Albie Bogarde if I am missing this. And Alun as indicated that he woud find it difficult not to be there in a spanner-wielding, cheer-leading capacity. Thanks Peter. Will your sump be baffled by then? Or just the driver, as usual? silly

Probably a bit tight for time.

Hopefully I'll have a large oil/water cooler by then.

Just about to order a digital oil pressure/temp gauge so I'll be able to monitor the situation easily and "rest" before any damage if it rears its head!

Wise words Peter this thread has had me thinking of the reality of driving these V8's hard.
Shorter runs or steady as she goes.
So regardless of the temp gauge the oil at different moments on track could be thin and thrown allover the place.

I'm going to consider 20/60 just for gravity!

I had issues on road tyres! Airfield so loads of grip but still.

Ok Peter, what gauge and pick up are you going for and where are you sticking it?

Go on boys go on book up, its my local track well one of about six!
I'll bring the tea and biscuits,,,,,,,,
I'd never been to Bedford before last year and I for one was really impressed with the place.
That Torismo track looks lovely.
What's the top speed on that layout.
I've got a really good friend I'm trying to get along
He's had most of the later tivs but drives stock cars now!!!
I carted with him last year,,,,, he was shunting me up the jacksie
Before we even got to the start line, lol
I get the feeling he's worried he'd be really into Tvr days but his Missus would leave him!!!!!!
Should I tell him his Missus is not as good as all that!
Feels a bit weird when going on my own! My grown up sons just look horrified when I ask them to accompany me, mmmmm
They know how crap I can be, lol lol lol lol lol lol
Any drives going spare, joke joke joke.

What a cool handle, britpower100 all you need to do is ask and someone who knows their way round will go in with you, allow you to follow them at a steady speed etc whatever you want, to familiarise yourself.
Happy tivin

There's a first time for everything - by definition.
Can I recommend booking yourself a tuition session, unless you have done a lot of similar stuff before? As early in the day as possible. Well worth the £20 or £25 they charge.
And do join us in the pit garages for the craic, and come for rides with any of us - we don't bite! And ask any of us to come for a ride with you too.
Plus Alun will be there, he's promised - he knows his way around a race track - and if all else fails I will be happy to take 5 seconds to show you all I know.
