Eletroplating

Has anyone used electroplating instead of paint on the front Hub carriers. ( I dont know if this is even possible).
Its in bits and I want to tidy it up before it goes back together.

Ok looks like I may the only one sad enough to think of this then. I will take some photos if I manage to get it done.

A quick search throughs up a number of hits, this one talks of success, but the pics don't work for me.

We're you thinking of a DIY kit or getting them done?

Seems they need to be lacquered to prevent salt turning them black.

Getting them done at a place in Derby. Then clearcoat laquer afterwards.
