It's sat outside wailing its head off after a flat battery. Connected the charger and boom, off goes the alarm. Immobiliser fob and key fob won;t turn it off. Disconnected charger now it is warbling, but still disturbing neighbours. Tried pulling all fuses, nothing. Can't get to battery terminals to disconnect, can't reach it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in desperation!

The battery box is located on two pins lift the box and pull forward then you can remove the terminals maybe try to carge the battery off the car good luck at least you will stop the alarm going off

If it's a Meta the siren has it's own battery backup so removing the battery lead will not silence it!

Is the battery flat dead?

Does the alarm fob operate the locks?

If the fob has lost sync with the alarm, you need to remove/re-attach the battery lead and immediately press the fob button to get it to sync.

If this works perhaps then you can disarm the alarm!

You may need to attach another battery via jump leads if the battery is flat dead (difficult in the space given unless you have the ansderson connector in the engine bay)

Thanks! Yes its a Meta alarm. Disconnected positive terminal of battery , it kept going, but then turned itself off. And on again. Then off again. Now appears to have stopped altogether.

I'll charge the battery overnight and try again in sociable hours.

Does the internal battery thing die? If so, does it kybosh the alarm system,?

Thanks very much.

I had a similar problem before my alarm system died. Driving along with the bloody thing wailing. The only thing that fixed it was to take the alarm speaker off and drop it in a bucket of water frown

Suspect your problem might be different because it keeps stopping and starting again.

Just in case, how do you get to the alarm speaker? I think its on the lower right hand side in front of the radiator.

Cheers.

That's it, pull the grille off if yours is pre-facelift, and it'll be low down on the near side, couple of 10mm nuts to undo and out it comes.

Once they go they dont tend to last too much longer so you may need a new one. They are a real PITA when they go off. We've had 2 fail in the middle of the night - first time on a drive in a row of mid terraces and no idea where the siren was. Not a hppay bunny and neither were the neighbours.
If you disconnect the battery always take the earth lead off first. Same with connecting chargers/jump leads always earth lead on last and off first.
