Puddle under drivers seat
Discussion
Hi all
I've just taken the drivers seat out to fix the padding and I've notices a puddle under it. There also seems to be a puddle under the passangers seat as well.
I can't see any obvious holes under the car at this point.
Does anyone know where it is likely to be leaking?
Thanks. Adrian

You need to water proof your roof.
Get some fabsil, give it a couple of coats and this should prevent any more puddles.
I don't think it's the roof as the puddle is directly under both the seats and all the carpet in the back and going down the sides is dry.
I am going to re waterproof the roof today as well though.

Bet it is OH
and don't forget to do the stitching. 1/2" deep mine was, had to bail it out.
Yep, usually the stitching - seeps through to the inner velcro 'ears' and runs down anything touching, and collecting under seat. Sides don't seem damp, as by the time you check, they've dried, but the water is stuck down below.
Oh yeah - TADTS!
I'd wet-vac/blot what you can. Poss hair-dryer? (might be a little tedious!) If you don't dry it out, you'll be living with 'wet dog' smell for months!
If it's dry out, get your gloves and coat on, hood down and go for a blast - should help dry out - and more enjoyable than the hair-dryer!

Have you got the triangle rubber ears at the front piece of the fold down roof - by the door? This may help.

Had a better look around (in the rain this time) and there is a medium sized leak on both sides at the front of velcro where the water is seeping in under the velcro and dropping straight to the floor.
I don't recall seeing the triangular
that FFG mentioned. I can see that something there would help prevent this particular leak.
The roof seems watertight everywhere else (I know... famous last words...)

There is a template on my previous post. I cut the rubber out of an old bicycle inner tube and stuck with evostick. Its surprising how thin a line it is between wet and dry.

The rubber ear things have both (nearly) gone, there is just a small remnant where they glue onto the body.
I'll make some new ones up and let you know how it goes.
