Hello has anyone got any Lobro/GKN alternative part numbers for these. I dont wish to pay the TVR tax. I think the drive shafts are either Granada or Sierra cosworth. Does anyone know for sure.
Thanks
Colin

How do you know the CV joints are worn ? The reason I ask is I get clunking at low speed and standstill when I put it in reverse , or is that a tired diff ?

I knew mine was broke as I tried to push the driveshaft out of the CV joint and a loud cracking noise scared the sh-t out of me. They had rusted together after 20 odd years. The inner race let go hence the need for a new one. It wasnt noisy as such just part of my process of stripping and rebuilding and reconditioning everything as I go along. All wishbones off, brakes off, rear diff coming out shortly. etc etc.
Noise whilst setting off will be Play in propshaft UJs or play in diff (are you sure it is working) or play in main shafts on gearbox or wear in CV joint. Delete as necessary.
Front my experience of CVs they tend to click click click on rotation when needing replacement.

Replaced propshaft UJ`s ,think they are Land Rover grease type .The wheel has free play of around three inch .

I don`t want to carry on with the GKN ,I want a BTR diff but do not have a clue how to convert ,maybe a conversion kit is available .
