On a Chimaera they need to be 225/35/18. Problem is the size has limited tyre options. I have Falkens at the moment which are ok'ish, but not great. can't get 888's in that size and I don't think Federals do 'em either which is a shame. I'd be interested to know alternatives ears

This sounds very limited?

Mac could I keep the 255x35 F1's on the back if I go with that front tyre size as you state?

My rears are 245/35/18 - loads of decent tyres available in that size
Not sure about 18" fronts

So no worries if I keep the 255 on,saying that would rather have the same all round and prob reduce to 245 at back, than I can sell all four F1 Eagles...255x358x18 with 6-7mm tread, what would you all say is reasonable price...they came off a Tuscan?

The rears aren't the problem as long as the same rolling radius is kept, it's the fronts that are in limited sizes.

Standard 225/50/16 631 mm Diameter

225/35/18 615mm

235/35/18 622mm

225/40/18 637mm

245/35/18 629mm

225/35/18 636mm

I would go for ether 225/40/18 or 245/35/18

255`s are to wide for a 8j wheel ,even more so with these low profiles .. You can get away with 255`s if the wall height is high enough ..not with 18" rims .

That's the rear tyre ..

Front standard are around 607 mm

I don`t know how it works with 18" wheels but with 17" all round you have the rear tyre wall height 1" higher because the standard set up have 1" difference front and rear ,this is made up by the rim size .

215/35/18 is 608mm

225/35/18 is 615mm

These are very popular

I fitted Uniroyal RS3‘s a couple of weeks ago to the front.

I'm impressed with them and they seem better than the T1R's that were on previously. (Only standard size though for me).

Always thought that T1Rs were very average.

After having RS2s on a VRs which were fantastic, I would love to try a set of the RS3s on a chim.
