How do you have your smartphone (or sat nav) on display?
Discussion
Yep, I'll see if I can get a photo later. I have a nice sturdy phone holder with a small suction cup. I fit the suction cup to the right of the small gauges on the wooden dashboard. Just behind the indicator stalk. The arm on the phone holder is long enough to hold the phone further left, just out of the way of the steering wheel and indicator stalk. It does cover up on elf the gauges, think it's the clock.

Ooh. That's nice (and reversible if needed).
Well done Phil. It isn't pretty (no offence), but it is never going to be pretty, it is functional and as Karl notes; it's reversible.
I think everyone else can forgo now

When the phone is in you don't really notice the bracket (thankfully). fog66 said:

Most humble apologies.
How about: It's less ugly than just about anything else that I might have imagined?

My bluetooth headset talks to me to say who is calling, so my phone can stay in my pocket or in the console pocket.
But that mounting would make a lot of sense for a satnav, without
I still use the "real man's" satnav; i.e. drive around lost (not asking anyone for directions) until I stumble upon my location (when I am lucky).
I have had some of my best (okay, and some of my worst) trips in the car that way

I use an iphone for my sat nav/speed camera notification (it's bluetoothed to the stereo so I do hear it!) but I don't like it having off the windscreen.
Has anybody got any innovative ways of securing the phone/nav to the dash or centre console?
Thanks
This is the best solution I've found by farHas anybody got any innovative ways of securing the phone/nav to the dash or centre console?
