I`m getting a clunk from the rear when I hit the accelerator and let go even when at speed ! changed the uj`s on the shaft a few years back ,I`m wondering if the diff is shot

Diff mounting plate Daz? 4 bolts, a little bit of play makes a lot of noise.

Its all been off last year ,I found bolts loose a few years ago bewteen the drive shaft and diff . I wonder if they have gone loose again !

Could also be engine/box mounts, easy to check.

A "clunk" on acceleration and deceleration could be almost any suspension or brake bolt loose.
Get it up on a ramp Daz and go over it carefully, before something serious happens.
Take it to Willow and let me know when, and I will collect you for a coffee and a look at my roll cage.

I would check this first.
Can make a helluva racket and sounds like u-joints somewhere in the drive train.
It is apparently very common.
Mine was afflicted very early in life, though it hasn't happened since

And me. Get a crow bar in thereand see if you can move diff (obviously protect whatever you are levering against). It was obvious when I did this.
