Just about to drop the body back onto the chassis and need to source some replacement chassis bolts.

I don't really understand bolt sizes and types so can anyone point me in the right direction for some?

Try this for starters.

think main body mounting bolts are M10, you want standard pitch, grade 8.8 ..... I'll leave you to work out the length wink

biggrin That means reading and learning stuff! Stuff that will take up valuable space in my head, or may dislodge other, more useful information.

Thanks for that, though. Ill take a look. smile

Give Willow a call mate - http://www.willowsportscars.co.uk
After fannying about with various bolts like wishbone, shocks etc and getting the wrong ones I just called up Nick and got everything sent to me next day

(or order loads of different lengths from eBay and keep them as spares, always come in handy again at some point)

Presumably none of the 12.9 or 8.8 graded bolts though.

You can get stainless high tensile (equivalent to 8.8 grade). They aren't cheap, but are available.

That's brilliant. Could have done with that before I started!

Thanks for all the links and help, should be enough there to get me through.

Interested in the high tensile stainless bolts though - worth doing? Happy to pay the premium if it's worth it.

not necessary (the high tensile bit) for body mountings imho.

Don't forget the stainless washers and nuts wink

Thank you biggrin It certainly took a while measuring all of it up ...

As Phillpot says, its probably not worth it (high tensile) for the chassis bolts as they only need to be nipped up really. Just wanted to confirm though that these bolts are available if you fancy it.

I used A2-70 bolts tensile strength 700 Nmm2 , compared to Carbon Steel 8.8 tensile strength of 800 Nmm2... But I don't think my chassis will come adrift smile .
Maybe A4-80 marine grade stainless bolts would be best of all if you get hold of them.
