Any helpful guys can tell me, or where to look for, the tightening torque setting for the two Allan key starter bolts. Thanks.

Can't find a reference but would have thought 25-30 lbs.

I've always done them by feel!

Thanks Peter. You and Dave agree close. Will fit new hi torque 2Kw starter from London & Essex, Auto Electrics ltd. £104 inc vat and postage.
Hope it works and its not cable from battery or the ignition switch. Gave the phantom click, click, click when trying to start after one big click. Will check the SH Bible on how to electrically check the solenoid on the old starter.
