Guys, I'm looking at my front ARB and wondering how to remove it. I want to get it re coated so what's the best way to remove/ replace without scratching it and everything else. I can undo it easy enough but not sure if I try and pull it through wheel arch or up and out at a diagonal angle through engine bay. I'm thinking I have carbon canister pipes etc in the way!
Any tips would be great fully appreciated. Thanks .

Hi Alun, did mine recently.....if you have the car jacked up high enough it can be pulled through the wheel arch. I painted mine and just put some masking tape to protect the paint when it went back in. Looks fine. ...Pete

I'm a knob, I had visions of pulling radiators out, im joking honest, that's great and the tape idea, obvious really. I'm not sure if I want them hand painted or Powdercoated and painted or chromed, lol lol lol.
They take a battering so something hardy at least.

Anodising, I wonder if you can still get that done?
I'd like wishbones etc done, tubular ones, old 60's race cars have that silver finish as did a few Grassbikes I had,
I'm sure that's anodising?
Can anyone enlighten me!
It must weigh a bit so that would probably rule it out anyway.
I'm desperate to get more shiny bling that's all subtle and respectful.
Chrome bezels for the dash clocks, Standard pattern steering wheel with polished centre, chrome gear knob and levers, be bloody blinded on a sunny day but how good would you look crashing down a bank, doh.

I dont think you can anodize steel only aluminium. You can however elctroplate, gold silver etc. I plan to do mine along with most of the suspension bits in the next few days as its all stripped at the moment. Afterwards they recommend spraying with laquer to keep the finish, ive seen it done on a few off road race cars and it looks good. I will post photos when complete.

Very nice Peter, I'll take a pic of mine and we can compare, looks identical to mine! Central installed mine so not sure who manufactured it.
I'm going to drain mine and take it out to give me better access to front of chassis, once I get the starter and O/S manifold off I noticed when changing engine mounting that with the engine raised there's reasonable access to chassis.
