Hi guys, got a small tear in the leather around the gear stick in the gaitor area, Dave the trimmer has quoted a bargain price to repair, so going to drop it over to him soon. My question is does anyone know how the console is removed at all?
Cheers.

Just the leather gaitor bit? Think you can just pull that out without removing the console.

Anyway, my console was held in by two screws on each side at the front where your knee would be. Two screws underneath that pouch bit at the back that you can lift out and then the door knob is held on by a little grub screw at the bottom, which is a right pain to get at.

You are right SPaceman - just unscrew the gear knob and remove the gaiter.

I have a tear that sounds very similar. I posted about it quite a while ago: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I've got the repair kit that someone recommended, but haven't got round to doing it yet.

I wonder if yours got torn in the same way: roof section falling down when raising/lowering roof?
