Steam/jet wash engine bay
Discussion
I'm going to be rewiring the engine bay, changing over to Megasquirt, new injectors, dizzy out, carbon plenum, sensors etc etc. Manifolds are coming off as well.
Now i'd never normally steam or jet an engine bay after hearing some peoples bad experiences but do you think there is any reason not to if I'll be changing the wiring anyway? Is there anything I'd need to watch out for?
I was thinking before the manifolds come off, just degrease and steam clean everything as it's quite dirty at the moment

I've only ever jet cleaned 1 engine. I heard it was OK to do it if you kept the enigne running and although I was told not to go anywhere near the electrics I went ahead and did the whole 'bay, at one point aiming the nozzle directly at the injectors! Not my best decision...... ran like a bag of spanners and I honestly thought I'd killed it
Was nice and clean though
Then I had a rare moment of inspiration, I went for a good hoon. That seemed to clear it up nicely and I've never ventured near an engine bay with a jetwash again

I did this, was so much easier to work on being so much cleaner
