Well yes, that would work smile

Slightly easier might be a full decat and straight through exhausts with cherry bombs on the end thumbup

Abother way would be to get your mits on one of Clive F's tuned manifolds, that's what I did biggrin But since he only made 2 and swore he'd never do another, the AJP idea might be easier hehe

Hi Nick, if you`re referring to his V8 Y piece, I believe he still makes them, he is my brother in law and I`ve just fitted one over the Xmas holiday.

Ignore the cherry bombs if you want the real thunder .... it will be f***ing loud though ... see my recent posts wink

Mine was louder than a fully decatted Cerb with straight through smile

Got the "touring" exhaust on at the moment .... ACT Cherry Bomb system.

Hi Steve,

No, I'm referring to this:

Sounds like an angry bowl of Rice Krispies with lashings of super hot sauce hehe popping and banging on the up-changes and down-changes. The over-run though, is just cloud9 Crackles, pops and bangs smile

My 500 is decatted and sleeved. Very loud, but does sound awesome over 3k. A bit of a bind on a long journey. I've contemplated these... Two for £100. He'll also do them semi sleeved.

Oh that one, yeah, a really nice set of pipes. We went up to Angelsey and he opened up his Griff in the Conway tunnels cloud9 It was a sound I`ll never forget.

To be honest I wouldn't want to hear that wink

Pain threshold is 130db !

Mine was 119db at 4k, the Cerb was 117 ......

146dB!

That is insane - In all honesty I doubt that figure - unless you had the probe shoved up the pipe.

With a sound pressure level like this you risk irreversible hearing damage from just one exposure!

Have to agree, my T350 is de-catted and has a JP rear box and thats 129, measured 1m away at 45 deg from the pipe. In cabin is quite nice, outside it's like thunder. Bearing in mind 146 from 129 is a lot more than just a 10% or so increase in volume I'd say 146 is way too much.

If that Cerb is at 146db then it would be classed as vey dangerous, 150db is rated just as Eardrum rupture. 140db is the same noise to be expected on the deck of an aircraft carrier and is 128 times noisier than a vacuum cleaner.
To get it pop and bang on over run, all you need to do is just feather the throttle a little and you should get some 'noise'. ears

Video of my 450 with that system fitted, here. Public roads though so I couldn't open her up.

To get proper pops and bangs on overrun you will need to adjust the ECU fuelling to the so that the fuel over run cut is disabled and the fuelling is just right on the overrun so it ignites in the manifold.... too much it will not ignite and to little it will not either. Also a retard on the ignition on overrun will get pops bangs and flames. Of course you need an aftermaket ECU to do the later.

Mark Adams can map the 14CUX to do it on fuelling but the mental pops and bangs come from control over the spark as well as the fuelling.

Of course if you have a standard car which has been decatted you can normally induce a few nice pops and bangs though feathering the throttle on the overrun.

What Daz has is the best option where you can select an alternative map for pops and bangs as I would imagine they would get a bit tiresome after a while.
