New Heads

I've been offered a pair of TVR Power Stage 2 heads, are they worth fitting to my 430? (mines not a BV as far as I'm aware).

I'd want to know the full spec, valve sizes, CC and what level of porting etc..... 1 persons stage 2 is another persons stage 1 or 3

If your 430 is running nicely, I'd be inclined to leave as is.... Just changing heads and not cam etc seems like it could work out to be a lot of work for little gain, especially so, if the 430 is running well anyway. .

I`d leave as you are. The standard 430 heads are very nicely ported and you will probably struggle to better them porting wise. The only thing you can do to better them is put the larger valves in. Having said that your valves will only be a fraction smaller then the 500 valves, Hardly day and night.

This is my old 430 & it's a very powerfull & lively motor with a recent new cam. I wouldn't jump to new heads untill they'd bin measured in every way to make sure they're an upgrade.

I was amazed at how little had actually been done to my original 500 heads from the factory.
Inspection and measurement by someone who knows what they are looking for.
Even then, what you have may be close enough to make the exercise pointless, and you can't know that without pulling them off...
