Door ashtrays - brainstorm
Discussion
Nasty things those ashtrays.
I smoke like a chimney, and avoided having ashtrays in my TVR like a plague (I know; I am metaphor mixing like a mixing thing)
Not keen on the door handle option myself. It's too far forward IMO.
To close these doors easily and reliably, you want your pressure point (hand) as near the latch as possible; like you would most often when closing from the outside.
Tweeters seem a fairly inoffensive 'filler', and might even pass off as intentional.
And they could prove useful when the engine isn't running whilst waiting for the RAC to turn up.
Did I just say that?
Ejector seat button would be another option

Would be a great place for tweeters. When I ordered a new Chim in 1994 it wasn't made clear that you could delete the ashtrays. Hence mine came with them. Wheeler was a big smoker apparently.
There was a lot of customising possible at the order stage but not all of this info was passed on to the customer, certainly by my supplying dealer.
My current Chim not only has ashtrays but blinged up Leven trims. Looking to return these to standard when I get time.

Here you go:

Not pretty but better and more functional than the ashtrays.
I think they'd look better in a dark trimmed car.
You can fit them without the clip on surround but they don't fit so well and show the indentation marks from where the ashtrays have crushed the vinyl trim.
