Having made the decision to buy a TVR I have been carrying out some research. I often find a decent owners club is the best place to start. Can anyone tell me which is the best place to join, one which preferably has an active north west contingency. Are TVR owners a friendly and helpful bunch? I am currently in the Porsche 924 owners club and its the members that make the club. I am just outside Southport!

Cheers!

TVRCC is pretty active in most areas, don't know about up your way though. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly. Best of luck.

Yes we're pretty active up here. You have several choices with the Lancashire or Blackpool regions being closest I'd suggest.

As the nights get longer and the weather gets better then the numbers of TVRs attending increase although as my car is my daily I'm always in the TVR. New or prospective members always welcome.

Have a look here. http://www.tvr-car-club.co.uk/regions/uk-nwengland...

Thanks for the replies, I had come across the TVR car club, just wanted to make sure it was worth joining before stumping up my hard earned cash!

If you're unsure, go along to a few meets before parting with cash.

As your in the Chimaera Forum I/we presume this is the model your after and is a very good place to start in the year 2014.

The Chimaera is proven to be a very reliable car with many owners using them as their daily drives. You have to take into account you will be buying a car that is anywhere between 12-21 years old depending on your budget and things if not replaced on purchase may well need doing at some stage.

Without question the TVR forum is full of very knowledgeable folks and if you are intending going to TVRCC meets or any TVR related show you will get to meet some of these very helpful people that can answer any questions you have.

When I read some of the threads I at times feel I've hit the wrong language button as it's way over my head, and seeing some of the pictures of them taking their car to bits is just frightening and think why oh why did I fall in love with the TVR brand.

Yes i'm a numpty on the mechanical side of things, but I'm on TVR number 3 and it's been no issue not knowing one end of the spanner to the other as I have not had any problems over the years with my cars.

Any questions you may have use the search button facility which leads you to google and you will see PH past TVR related topics.

Also look at TVR owners blogs by clicking their user name and take a look at the garage section. Unfortunately not many keep these up to date scratchchin but take a look at mine which is everything I have spent in 9 months tomorrow of ownership. Although mine is in at the moment having 12k service and other things sorted so will be possibly another £1k and more to be addedcry

Enjoy your searching, take your time finding the right car and go for it.. You won't regret it when the V8 starts up cloud9
