I have a 4.6 with a stealth cam with I think the JP cam chain kit, whats fitted is adjustable +/- 2 - 4 deg etc. Can some one explain what the effect would be if the cam hasn't been timmed in correctly ie 2 - 4 deg out. Would it effect peak power by very much, I have a dyno printout the bhp line it straight till around 4500 rpm @ 220bhp then it starts to fall off reaching peak at 5700 rpm @ 241bhp these are rear wheel figures, also would this have an effect on the idle.

Can't help you with your actual question I'm afraid. Although if the timing is out it is not going to do your power any good. Do you have a strobe to check?

Regarding your bhp - 241 at the wheels doesn't sound bad (assuming your stealth cam is fitted to a 5l block?). This would equate to something like 277bhp at the fly. Obviously depends on your engine, for some this could be quite disappointing

edit: Sorry see you have a 4.5 - in which case very reasonable figures.

Yes had someone put a strobe on it for spark and that seems to be ok.

Forgot to put full info down, it has V8D ported heads, and all the inlet work done ported, bigger trumpets etc and 72mm throttle and silicon pipes to filter.
