Yes or no?!

(I suspect no, but would welcome some experiences).

Thanks all.

Well I did, today.

Did a good job, no messy glue left anywhere, cleaned the screen properly and refined the windscreen trim well.

As long as it doesn't leek, a good job I'd say.

Just checked and the one fitted today was branded 'Safevue'.

Edit to add:
Just googled Safevue and it looks like it is a type of lamination technique from Pilkington Glass

Hi there ,

I put another 12 months Tax on my Chim on the 30/12/13 , while putting the Tax Disc in , i thought why not take it for a blast , got about 4miles form my house hit a pothole ( just like the advert 0 big crack from the drivers side.

To cut a long story short , insurance phoned told me to take it to Autoglass Glasgow , they ordered the windscreen and new seal that day , took the car in on 3/01/14 and collected it the next day , great job and they had to make the seal as the one supplied did not fit , the guys @ Autoglass could not have been more helpful ( although they said its not the job they want to do after New year celabrations ) .

Would have no reservations about using them again .

And just to square the circle, the last one I had done (some years ago) was done by a so-called TVR specialist who managed to comprehensively trash the trimming on the screen pillars with his rope saw. I really think it just depends on who is actually doing the job rather than who they work for... talk to whoever is doing the job and satisfy yourself they know the issues is my suggestion.

If you really want to know who made it does it have a DOT Number? As they are a manufacturer ID number assigned by the US Department of Transport.
